Netlify Description

Netlify is the AI native web platform where agents and developers build together. Over 15 million developers and teams use it to build, launch, and scale web applications on a single platform, from independent builders to cross-functional teams at Bolt, Figma, Mattel, and Riot Games.

Whether you're writing code or working with AI, Netlify takes you from prompt to live production URL in one workflow. Leading AI coding agents like Claude Code, Codex CLI, and Gemini CLI run directly inside the Netlify dashboard, which is agent-agnostic by design. Underneath sits managed Postgres with isolated branches per Deploy Preview, serverless functions, edge compute, and a global CDN. Every modern web framework is supported.

That last part matters. Most AI prototyping tools hit a wall when it's time to ship. Teams build something quickly, then hand it back to engineering to rebuild on real infrastructure before it can scale. Netlify skips that step. The app you ship on day one is the app that scales.

Netlify's CEO and co-founder, Mathias Biilmann, coined the term agent experience (AX) in January 2025. The company's long-term strategy is built around being the best place for agents and the humans directing them to build software together.

The business model reflects that bet. Netlify was first in the category to pair credit-based usage tiers with flat, unlimited seats. Developers, PMs, marketers, and internal builders can all join the same plan for free and build alongside AI agents. It's a PLG motion designed for bottom-up enterprise expansion, with consumption driving growth instead of seat counts.

Summary: Overall the performance is really great and very much easy to scale our web apps and simple. And I like the auto changes feature that automatically triggers as we change something on our GitHub.

    Positive: Easy to use.
Integration with different version control sites makes it fast.
    Free to use.
    Easy deployment of websites.

Negative: The documentation can be slightly introduced as beginners find it a little difficult to understand.

The go to place for those starting portifolio or personal blogs!

    Date: Jul 30 2020

Summary: If you are creating your first personal/portfolio blog and are comfortable with using GitHub etc, Netlify will allow you to host your site for free and make your life so much better. They even have tons of documentation and tutorials.

Positive: - The biggest pro is that Netlify lets you host your first site for free. This is a blessing for those getting started with blogging since they do not have to pay any hosting fee.

Negative: - Netlify doesn't follow the traditional model like hosting with WordPress on your hosting site so it might be a little confusing at first.

    A very simplistic CMS tool

    Date: Jun 27 2020

Summary: If you have a small site like a blog, you are better off not using something like WP or Drupal with all the clutter. Go for Netlify.

Positive: - Netlify makes it a walk in the park to setup a static site and integrate it with GitHub. It removes all the clutter that other CMS platforms have.

Negative: - Not as feature rich compared to something like Drupal or Joomla.

    Netlify review

    Date: Jan 21 2021

Summary: Overall a great platform to start deploying your web app, because it is easy to implement and easy to use.

Positive: The pros of using Netlify are that you cannot find any other easy software to host you web app. You can directly host you Github repository. It has crash reposts and logging, so it makes development much more easy.

Negative: The only con is that the price is quite high apart from that you can use this for basic purposes in free tier.

    New Netlify pricing disaster

    Date: Dec 07 2022

Summary: What a joke. So if i have a project with 5 devs instead of paying 20 a month for their hosting and pipeline services, they now want me to pay 120 a month. and the git contributors are priced at the 20 price as well! basically they waited a couple years until they had good reviews on platforms like this and then when for a big money grab and destroyed customer trust. What a terrible way to treat customers.

Positive: Netlify has a nice platform, and the CMS is a nice touch. They also USED to have good service pricing but now everyone is leaving because of how bad it is.

Negative: Netlify attracted a bunch of people to their platform through good competitive pricing and offerings. Now, not only is the pricing atrocious. They did it with no warning! No messages or emails before hand, nothing. And on top of that they tried to right it off as a "minor change". As if a 1000% increase to my billing is "minor" and no I'm not even exaggerating. And the best part? It's not even for a service they provide. They are trying to get people to pay for git contributors. so in essence the service that GitHub or Bitbucket or whoever you use for git is providing.
